OpenAI to Release “Strawberry” AI for ChatGPT in Two Weeks
OpenAI is preparing to launch its new reasoning-focused AI model, Strawberry, within the next two weeks. This model, which can "think" before responding, marks a significant advancement in AI-driven problem-solving. The upcoming release is expected to further enhance ChatGPT’s capabilities, driving even more interest in OpenAI’s AI offerings.
Strawberry focuses on reasoning, allowing it to process complex tasks with thoughtful responses.
It will be part of ChatGPT but function as a standalone offering.
The initial version of Strawberry will be text-based only, without image capabilities.
Expect Strawberry to boost user engagement and potentially open new premium service tiers.
With the upcoming release of Strawberry, OpenAI continues to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve. As businesses eagerly await its launch, the new model promises to deliver deeper reasoning and more powerful solutions, setting the stage for even more innovation in AI.

Tesla Files Patents for Wireless Robotaxi Charging
Tesla is taking a major step toward the future of autonomous vehicles by filing four new patents related to wireless charging technology. This move follows Tesla’s acquisition of Wiferion’s engineering team, focusing on innovative solutions to streamline the charging process for its Robotaxi fleet. The patents reveal Tesla's plans for a highly efficient, wireless charging system that could revolutionize how electric vehicles recharge.
Temperature Monitoring: Tesla’s wireless charging system will include sensors to track temperatures on both the pad and the vehicle’s inductive coils for improved efficiency.
Energy Efficiency: A shorting switch in the system will help reduce energy leakage, making the wireless charging process faster and more effective.
Dynamic Adaptation: The charging mat will adjust its coil induction to account for vehicle positioning, ensuring optimal charge with minimal heat.
Robotaxi Integration: Tesla’s Robotaxi will be the first vehicle to feature this inductive charging, aligning with its autonomous nature for seamless, human-free charging.
Tesla’s wireless charging patents signal a significant leap toward fully autonomous Robotaxi fleets. With dynamic and efficient charging systems in development, the upcoming reveal at Tesla’s October event will offer a glimpse into the future of EV innovation.
China's AI Models Trail U.S. by 6-9 Months, but App Growth Expected to Surge
China’s artificial intelligence models are currently six to nine months behind those developed in the U.S., according to Kai-Fu Lee, former head of Google China and founder of the startup 01.AI. While China’s large language models (LLMs) lag, Lee predicts that AI applications will proliferate much faster in China by early next year, especially as the cost of training models decreases.
Chinese AI models are 6-9 months behind their U.S. counterparts, with less advanced models trailing by 15 months.
AI app growth in China is expected to surge by early 2025, outpacing the U.S.
Major companies like Alibaba and Tencent have released AI models and business products.
Beijing-based ShengShu Technology introduced an advanced text-to-video AI model, Vidu, for advertisers.
Despite the current lag in AI model development, China is poised to lead in AI application growth, leveraging decreasing training costs and significant investments. The next year could see a rapid expansion of AI-driven consumer apps in China, setting the stage for global competition in the AI space.
Sergey Brin Back at Google, Focuses on AI Development
Google co-founder Sergey Brin has returned to working at Google nearly every day, driven by the excitement around advancements in artificial intelligence. Speaking at the All-In Summit in L.A., Brin acknowledged the rapid pace of AI development and its potential to bring "tremendous value to humanity." This marks Brin's first public confirmation of his active role in Google's AI efforts since rumors surfaced last year.
Brin also shared his skepticism about the need for significantly increasing computing power to train more capable AI models. He emphasized that recent algorithmic improvements may be advancing faster than the increase in computing resources, suggesting that future AI breakthroughs could come from smarter algorithms rather than just larger computing infrastructures.
